The Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Technician will report to the RMA Supervisor and will be responsible for processing, verifying, Return to Vendors (RTV) and repairing incoming RMA's from the field. This position will work cross-functionally supporting the engineering and quality departments to help identify root cause analysis. The work will be conducted in a fast-paced warehouse environment with a deadline-centric focus. The RMA Technician will be working in an independent environment and should be self-motivated while maintaining high levels of productivity. This position will play a key role in training team members and the execution of daily projects.
 
 
Specific Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, test and repair customer returned product down to the component level
  • Read schematic diagrams and follow test procedures
  • Perform solder repairs on through-hole and surface mount components
  • Ensure the RMA process is followed for all received product; including updating ERP system, evaluating, testing and proper disposition of the unit
  • Understand operational requirements of the unit and be able to identify and correct problems or inconsistencies
  • Partner with a diverse team base including fulfillment operators, technicians, engineers and product owners
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner with internal team members as well as dealers including internal teammates, along with end dealers
  • Clerical processing and disposition of returned product using business resource programs and databases
  • Support departments within the Fulfillment Center and quality engineering as needed
 
Required Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Certificate of Completion of Technical School, or 3+ years’ experience in related discipline
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical products
  • Familiarity with computer literacy skills including Windows, Excel, and Word
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to determine failure of home automation and entertainment hardware that incorporates the use of Linux, and XML software
  • Understanding of Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and ZigBee networking
  • Ability to communicate defect and root cause information to engineering, customers/dealers, tech support and suppliers
  • Soldering experience
